Sugar shack sweetens life up

Maple toffee on snow will be one of the many tasty treats featured at Saturday’s (Feb. 19) Maple Sugar Shack at Nanaimo District Secondary School.

L’Association des francophones de Nanaimo invites the public to satisfy its sweet tooth at the 2011 Cabane à sucre/Maple Sugar Shack Saturday (Feb. 19) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Nanaimo District Secondary School’s cafeteria and gymnasium.

The entire family will enjoy partaking in traditional sugar shack activities and French Canadian dishes. A delicious breakfast will be served, as well as the famous maple toffee on snow.

Participants can enjoy performances by Les Cornouillers and the Vibe dance troupes, magician Zigster the Trickster, artist Zeta Marie Boudreau and Réjean Bussières.
