Brain freezes may be on the rise Thursday (July 11) when 7-Eleven starts giving away free slurpees.
The business is celebrating its 44th birthday by handing out the sweet treats to customers.
In Nanaimo an estimated 9,000, 12 oz. slurpees are up for grabs.
This is the first year 7-Eleven is handing out the larger sizes. In previous years the 7.11 oz. cups were available. The business has also introduced two new flavours for the summer: Crush lite grape and Mountain Dew.
