The Run for Life organizing committee bids farewell to one of two CT scanners. Nanaimo Regional General Hospital has the oldest scanners on Vancouver Island

Take your fitness to the next level with a personal challenge that is fun and achievable.

The Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation is co-hosting two healthy events on Saturday and Sunday (May 28-29) in support of one of two new CT scanners at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

The scanners will decrease scanning time, provide state-of-the-art image clarity and decrease exposure to radiation.

On Saturday, in partnership with Nanaimo Airport, the foundation invites cyclers of every skill level to participate in the inaugural Ride for Life. With options of a 25-kilometre, 50km, or 100km route, cyclists will be touring Cedar and Yellow Point before crossing the line back at the Nanaimo Airport. Visit www.rideforlifenanaimo.ca to register, create a team, or pledge a rider.

On Sunday, the foundation is partnering with central Island financial institutions to host the 13th annual Run for Life at Bowen Park. Challenge your fitness in a fun 5km run, walk, or stroll.

Visit www.nanaimohospitalfoundation.com/run to register. Sign up for the run before noon on Thursday for early bird prices.
