The Rotary Club of Lantzville is taking to the skies for their latest fundraising effort.

The club is selling 1,500 raffle tickets for $20 each for its inaugural Helicopter Golf Ball Drop at Fairwinds Golf Course on May 6.

“Fundraising can be a difficult task, but we have found a fun and different way for the public to win great prizes with the helicopter ball drop,” said Don Tamelin, Lantzville Rotary president.  “The money raised will support the good work that Rotary does in the community.”

The number on each ticket purchased coincides with a numbered golf ball to be dropped en masse from a West Coast Helicopter onto the fairway after the annual charity golf tournament. The five balls closest to the flagstick will win the top prizes.

The contest is open to everyone and ticket holders do not need to be present to win. The five prizes include: an Alaska cruise; one-hour helicopter ride for three; Taylor Made golf clubs and bag; Fusion lightweight kayak; Campbell River float trip and plane ride.

Each ticket also includes a pack of $5 coupons for Ricky’s, Boston Pizza, Pipers Pub, ABC Country restaurant and the Village Pub in Lantzville.

Tickets are available from Lantzville Rotary Club members or Woodgrove Centre sales booth today (April 9) and April 16.
