The Nanaimo Rotary Club helped ensure a good night’s sleep for a few more community members.

The club recently provided $11,600, including $3,500 from the Rotary Foundation, to go toward the Rotary Bed Project for Vancouver Island Mental Health Society.

The money went toward bed-bug-free mattresses, bed frames and bedding.

Rotarians held a work party in late August, removing old frames and mattresses and unpacking and setting up the new beds.

On hand for the cheque presentation were Ross White of the Nanaimo Rotary Club; Gillian Baker, VIMHS human resources development; Jan Arkell VIMHS finance manager; and Charles Ramos, president-elect, Nanaimo Rotary Club.
