Residents join NEDC tourism committee

The Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation has signed up 16 community representatives to help position the city as a tourist destination.

The Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation has signed up 16 community representatives to help position the city as a tourist destination.

Forming the corporation’s Tourism Leadership Committee, the group is chaired by Dan Brady, of the Howard Johnson Harbourside Hotel.

Joining Brady for a two-year term are: Volker Grady, Coast Bastion Inn; Dave Ilyn, Buccaneer Inn; Nicole Vaugeois, Vancouver Island University; David Twynam, VIU; John Winter, Harbour Air; Bruce Avis, Correction Services Canada; Scott Littlejohn, Living Forest Campground; Kristenn Magnussen, veterinarian; Don Dempson, business consultant; Sandra Petryk, Nanaimo Airport; Denise Tacon, Vancouver Island Conference Centre; Margot Holmes, Vancouver Island Symphony; Donna Vidal, CTV News; Jen Bogwald, Meyers Norris Penny; and Elizabeth Williams, City of Nanaimo sport tourism.
