Powerlifter back at RBC

NANAIMO – Rhonda Heaslip aims to raise $15,000 for B.C. Children’s Hospital.

Weightlifting enthusiasts and bank customers have a chance to meet Nanaimo’s Rhonda Heaslip, winner of multiple national powerlifting championships and the current national and Commonwealth powerlifting record holder, on May 31 at the RBC Royal Bank downtown.

Heaslip will be there from 3-4 p.m. talking about powerlifting, her record breaking lifts and her Raise the Bar for Kids campaign, which aims to raise $15,000 for B.C. Children’s Hospital.

This is the second of a number of RBC Royal Bank stops to build awareness about the fundraiser – on Sept. 7, she will attempt to lift close to or more than 159 kilograms at Woodgrove Centre.
