Nanaimo paddlers continue to make a splash in the battle against breast cancer.
The Valhalla Pure Outfitters Nanaimo Paddlefest and pledge drive takes place June 25 at Maffeo Sutton Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The dragonboat event raised more than $78,158 since it began in 2003. Last year teams raised nearly $11,000 with the City of Nanaimo’s Wave Babes the top fundraiser.
