Seed swappers are asked to prepare ahead for this year’s Seedy Sunday, set for March 6 at Bowen Park.
Envelopes are now available, stamped and ready to fill in plant type and variety, when collected, and other information.
“Even ‘I don’t know’ is useful information for the people swapping,” said Glenda Stroomer, Seedy Sunday Nanaimo co-ordinator.
Envelopes can be collected at the Foodshare Centre, 271 Pine St., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“There can be a real pile-up at the swap table if people have to stand around on the day to write the information swappers need,” Stroomer said. “Everything goes much more smoothly if the seeds arrive ready to be placed on the table for immediate swapping.”
Preparations are underway for the informative Seedy Sunday, with heritage seeds to swap, workshops, information and sales tables and food available.
