La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in Nanaimo hosts  a fundraiser Sunday (Oct. 14) at Brechin Lanes to help those trying to rebuild their lives following  Hurricane Tomas in 2010.

The storm caused millions of dollars in damage and hundreds of deaths.

Tickets for the event are $25, and include three hours of bowling, shoe rental, a burger and salad.

There will also be a silent auction, live auction and cash bar, as well as other fundraising activities.

La-Z-Boy stores on Vancouver Island are supporters of Compassion Canada – an organization committed to eliminating child poverty world wide.

In addition to individual fundraisers, the Island stores donate a portion of their profits to the charity.

Anybody wishing to attend the fundraiser can purchase tickets at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries at Country Club Centre.
