Personal development course offered for teens

NANAIMO – The Women of Tomorrow course at Country Club Centre covers makeup and hair to personal presentation, goal setting and nutrition.

A new Nanaimo workshop will help teenage girls put their best foot forward.

Country Club Centre is hosting a personal development and modelling workshop for teenage girls this month, with image consultant and former model Louise Otto. The three-day Women of Tomorrow course, for teens aged 13-17, covers everything from hair and makeup, to wardrobe, personal presentation and self-esteem.

At the end of the workshop, the girls will use their new-found knowledge for a grad fashion show.

“I am excited to empower young women to be the best they can be,” Otto said. “As a mother, I understand how important it is for teenage girls to feel great about themselves and know they can handle life’s situations with poise and confidence.”

The nine-hour, $59 workshop runs from Aug. 11-13 between 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Country Club Centre. The fashion show is Aug. 16. For more information visit countryclubcentre.com or call 250-758-102, ext. 201.
