New church opens its doors

The arrival of a new year sees the formation of a new church in Nanaimo.

New Horizons is a non-denominational church operating out of the Wellington Community Hall at 3922 Corunna Ave.

“In a world with so much uncertainty and instability, we desire to be a gathering of people who purposefully and actively reach out and make a positive difference in the lives of people in Nanaimo and it’s surrounding communities,” said Robert Dockerill, church pastor.

Dockerill believes there is room for more churches in Nanaimo since the uniqueness of each church reaches diverse groups of people in the city.

“History reveals that more lives are touched by the gospel of Jesus Christ through the planting of new churches,” he said.

New Horizons opens it’s doors Sunday (Jan. 8) at 10 a.m. All visitors are welcome.
