The eighth annual Cavalier King Charles spaniel dog walk takes place Saturday, (Sept. 8) at Finn Beach in Neck Point Park.

Registration and social activities begin at 11:30 a.m. with the traditional Parade of Cavaliers through the park starting at 1 p.m.

It’s a free event open to all Cavalier spaniels, their humans, and spectators.

After assembling and introductions at Finn Beach, adjacent to the main parking lot, all dogs are invited to participate in a walking tour of the park and finish off with group and individual photo opportunities.

After the walk everyone, is invited to enjoy coffee at Serious Coffee, 4750 Hammond Bay Rd., next to Piper’s Pub.

Numbers for the walk have continued to grow over the last seven years with up to 60 dogs participating.

Last year, Cavalier spaniels and owners came from Campbell River, Courtenay, Port Alberni, Parksville, Nanaimo, Duncan, Ladysmith, Victoria, North Vancouver and New Westminster.
