It was a nice day for a walk on the waterfront, especially for those who were there to support a good cause.

The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s fundraiser was held Sunday, May 28, on the Harbourfront Walkway, starting at the Nanaimo Yacht Club.

The event was held in 21 communities across B.C., to draw awareness and also raise money for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. to support its programs and services.

“The event is geared towards increasing understanding about the disease and creating dementia-friendly communities,” noted an event press release.
