Nanaimo SPCA offers summer camps

NANAIMO – Week-long summer camps immerse kids in activities to increase understanding about animals.

Don’t let your young animal lover miss the opportunity to spend a week at a B.C. SPCA summer camp in the brand-new Nanaimo facility. The week-long camps immerse kids ages seven to 11 in a range of activities that increase their understanding about companion, farm and wild animals.

“Spaces are filling quickly,” says Paula Neuman, humane education manager with the B.C. SPCA. “Last year most weeks sold out, so this year with our new space we are able to have more weeks of camp and therefore more spaces available.”

The camps offer a variety of activities, including outdoor and indoor games, guest speakers, hand-on creative projects, making toys and treats for the animals, shelter tours and visits with specially selected and approved shelter animals.
