Nanaimo and District SPCA is hosting a microchip clinic and vegetarian barbeque Saturday (June 27) to celebrate the launch of a new pet registry.
The Nanaimo SPCA event, running noon to 4 p.m., is geared at recognizing what its says is the first provincial pet database in the country. It was launched by the SPCA in partnership with vet clinics.
Microchips are $25 and to add pets into the annual registry is $12, or $45 for a lifetime.
The register can be found at www.bcpetregistry.com. The event takes place at the Nanaimo SPCA shelter at 2200 Labieux Rd.
