Nanaimo was in a celebratory mood for Canada Day.
Community members filled Maffeo Sutton Park on Tuesday, July 1, for Canada Day celebrations hosted by the City of Nanaimo. There was music and dancing at two different stages, bouncy castles and other kids' activities, paddling, and demonstrations of tai chi, taekwondo, and historical fencing. Various community groups set up information booths, and several food trucks also rolled up to the park for the day.
