Nanaimo Community Hospice recently accepted a donation for $500 from the Nanaimo Business Exchange.
The gift will go towards the completion of the new Hospice House.
“Hospice provides a hugely valuable service to the community and we are there with supportive programs when people need them the most,” said Wendy Pratt, hospice’s executive director. “Without the generosity of the community and groups like the Nanaimo Business Exchange we would not be where we are today.”
The organization’s Expand the Heart of Hospice fundraising campaign has almost reached its goal and is now within $200,000 of becoming mortgage free. Donations can be made directly at Hospice House at St. George Crescent, by phone at 250-591-8811 or online by visiting www.nanaimohospice.com.
