Women and men in their retirement or semi-retirement years looking to expand their social circles are being asked to consider joining Probus Clubs in Nanaimo.

National Probus Month is being stretched into two months this March and April, notes a club press release. Members will be celebrating the Probus experience in Canada, and living up to the club’s slogan: “Get connected, stay connected.”

There are five clubs in the Nanaimo-Lantzville area, said the press release, and during Probus month, they have created a club flag, website and banner. While COVID-19 regulations only allow for virtual meetings via Zoom, usual meetings include socializing, activity reports and a guest speaker. Monthly activities include hiking, walks, golf, tours, photography, book clubs, crafts, bridge and dining out and clubs also enjoy holding special breakfast or lunch celebrations with cake.

Anyone interested in joining is asked to go to www.probus.org, find the club closest to them and arrange to attend a meeting as a guest.
