Moulin Rouge night aids Hospice House

The Diners Rendezvous invites its customers on a trip to a Paris cabaret in support of Nanaimo Community Hospice.

The Diners  Rendezvous invites its customers on a trip to a Paris cabaret  in support of Nanaimo Community Hospice.

An Evening at the Moulin Rouge takes place April 19 from 5-9 p.m. at the Wallace Street eatery, with funds going toward the Expand the Heart of Hospice fundraising campaign.

A high-energy night of fashion, music and fun, the ladies-focused event starts with cocktails (not included in ticket price), a three course dinner, a fashion show from Catwalk Fashions with a variety of Moulin Rouge-inspired outfits mixed with vintage pieces, a musical performance by the group Indie and a silent auction.

Tickets are $75 and a $50 tax receipt will be issued. They can be purchased at Diners Rendezvous, 489 Wallace St., through Hospice House, 1729 Boundary Ave., or by phone at 250-740-1133, ext. 1.

The money goes to a new Hospice House that will double the current space and allow for future growth.

Hospice has served the Nanaimo community for more than 30 years, and demand for its services has tripled in recent years.

The campaign needs to raise $600,000 for the $1.25 million project. For more information about Hospice House or to donate, please visit www.nanaimohospice.ca or call 250-758-8857.
