Monthly tea salon features raw food chef

NANAIMO – Tea, books, special guests and good conversation is what makes Nanaimo’s monthly Tea Salon so special.

Tea, books, special guests and good conversation is what makes Nanaimo’s monthly Tea Salon so special.

It’s a civilized, slow paced afternoon – just what many people  are craving.

The May Tea Salon takes place May 5 from 1-3 p.m. at the Painted Turtle Guest House’s Great Room, 121 Bastion St., and welcomes raw food chef Liz Forrest.

She will teach the tea lovers how to make a healthy tea latte and raw treats to go with beverage.

Forrest wants to teach people the fundamental basics of raw food – what the health benefits are and the reasoning behind it.

She wants people to understand that it doesn’t have to be “all or nothing” and that just including more raw food with each meal can provide great health benefits

“I am pleased to be a part of the Tea Salon because of the community connection it provides,” said Forrest. “It’s wonderful to just sit and enjoy some tea, books and knowledge with others.”

Participants are encouraged to bring books to trade  and their own tea cup. The event is open to the public but space is limited.
