Lotto early bird deadline approaches

NANAIMO – Hospital foundation's Lotto for Life early bird draw cutoff is Thursday (Feb. 14).

With only 5,000 tickets available for the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation’s 20th annual Lotto for Life hospital lottery, buyers have to act fast to get in on the action.

The early bird draw cutoff is midnight Feb. 14, with dozens of prizes including the $20,000 top prize.

The early bird draw takes place Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. at Woodgrove Centre.

The final draw awards a lucky ticket holder $100,000 in cash, but prizes do not stop there.

Trips, home theatre systems, and a 2013 Buick Verano will also be given away.

The hospital foundation raises funds for lifesaving equipment on central Vancouver Island. All 2013 proceeds help equip the new emergency department at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

NRGH has the busiest ER on the Island and saw almost 60,000 visitors last year. The new department opened in October, but equipment is still needed. The Foundation has approximately $700,000 left to raise on its $4-million pledge of support.

Please call the 24-hour ticket hotline at 250-755-7640 to order the $100 tickets, or visit  www.nanaimohospitalfoundation.com/lotto to view sponsors and ticket outlet locations.

The final draw cutoff is midnight March 22 and takes place April 6 at 1 p.m. at Country Club Centre.
