International Day of Peace in Nanaimo will be meaningful

Events will be held Saturday (Sept. 16) from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Maffeo Sutton Park

The park will be a peaceful place on the last weekend of summer.

The International Day of Peace will be observed Saturday (Sept. 16) from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Maffeo Sutton Park.

There will be a peace walk at 11 a.m. on the Harbourfront Walkway, leading up to the day’s opening ceremonies at 11:45 a.m. At noon, music and family activities begin, and there will be yoga and tai chi. Musical performers include Mikeoula and Joshua Holloway leading up to headliners Rick Scott and Nico Rhodes at 2 p.m.
