Hospital continues e-mail greetings service

The Vancouver Island Health Authority makes it easy to stay in touch with patients at NRGH.

The Vancouver Island Health Authority wants to make it easy for loved ones to stay in touch with patients at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Through its Well Wishes e-mail service, hospital volunteers print out, seal and hand deliver messages direct to patients. If requested, messages can also be read aloud.

Well Wishes is available only on weekdays. Messages received late Friday, on weekends or holidays will be delivered at the next opportunity.

The pilot program was introduced in Nanaimo over Christmas, and VIHA plans to extend the program to other hospitals throughout the region.
