Gift helps care project

In keeping with its philosophy of giving back to the community, Tom Harris Cellular donated $25,000 to Vancouver Island health care.

The donation goes to the construction of Jeneece Place, a home-away-from-home for children and their families from central and northern Vancouver Island who must travel to Victoria for specialized treatment and care, often involving extended stays.

“We’re excited to be able to help such a worthy cause as Jeneece Place and of course Jeneece herself,” said Tom Harris. “This donation will help Jeneece, who has worked tirelessly for her entire life, to turn her incredible dream into a reality. I believe strongly in this project and encourage others to learn about and support Jeneece Place.”

The driving force behind Jeneece Place is Jeneece Edroff, a teenage girl diagnosed with neurofibromatosis at the age of three. Often spending days in doctors’ offices and hospitals, she still continues to undergo treatments and surgeries allowing her to attend school and spend time with her family and friends.
