The Friends of Morden Mine Society and Nanaimo Community Archives are richer thanks to a gift from the Friends of Plan Nanaimo Society.
The two non-profit organizations will share the close to $1,000 remaining in Friends of Plan Nanaimo’s treasury as the group, formed in the mid-2000s, has decided to end its existence as it has not been active for several years.
The money was presented at the Morden Colliery’s 100th anniversary reception Saturday at the Nanaimo Museum in the Port of Nanaimo Centre.
