Flowers bloom at St. Paul's

St. Paul’s Anglican Church will be blooming Aug. 5-6 as it celebrates 150 years in the community with a festival of flowers.

St. Paul’s Anglican Church will be blooming Aug. 5-6 as it celebrates 150 years in the community with a festival of flowers.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., on the Friday and  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Saturday.

Commercial florists as well as individual designers will create a tapestry of colour and beauty with more than 30 floral designs in the church.

Entertainment includes organ, piano, harp, voice, and violin performances, and there is a silent auction of the floral arrangements.

Admission by donation and all proceeds go to the  church’s Replacement Roof Fund.

The weekend also includes a blackberry extravaganza tea and bake sale Aug. 6 in the church hall.

Tea times are 2-3:30 p.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. Tickets are $8 and available at the church office by calling 250- 753-2523.

Proceeds go to St. Paul’s community outreach activities.
