Fast food chain fundraises for MS

.

August is multiple sclerosis month at Nanaimo’s four A&W restaurants.

For the entire month, the restaurants at Woodgrove Centre, Victoria Crescent, South Parkway Plaza and Northridge Village are collecting donations for the MS Society of Canada.

People can enter to win gift baskets or an A&W pedal car each time they donate.

And on Wednesdays, the company is promoting its MS fundraising through Cruisin’ the Dub at the Northridge location.

Every Wednesday from 6-9 p.m., people bring classic cars to the parking lot for a show and shine event.

“We started in June and it goes every Wednesday until August,” said Kamal Saab, director of operations for the A&W restaurants. “We use the cars to bring people and families in and make it a big day.”

Cruisin’ the Dub nights build momentum for MS Day (Aug. 25), where $1 from every Teen Burger sold in every A&W across the country goes to the MS Society.
