Downtown Nanaimo is the place to be Saturday (April 23) as the Downtown Nanaimo Business Improvement Association hosts the inaugural Easter Bunny Trail.
The holiday event starts off at 9 a.m. at Diana Krall Plaza with the Cedar Lions Club’s pancake breakfast and some family-friendly fun. At 10:30 a.m., families can set out on the Easter Bunny Trail throughout downtown to find a bevy of Easter treats.
Highlights include the Easter Bunny with a few other mascot friends, bouncy castles, Easter crafts, face painting and colouring, entertainment by Aunti Bobbi the Clown and Easter bags for the kids to collect their holiday treats at participating Downtown merchants.
The trail winds through downtown including Commercial Street and Victoria Crescent areas, the Old City Quarter and the waterfront district.
Each participating merchant offering treats will have a poster in the window as well as helium balloons to show that they are a stop on the trail.
