Event helps kids gain Navy skills

NANAIMO - Nanaimo Navy League hosts program Friday and Sunday (Aug. 23-25) to teach youth about its courses.

The Nanaimo Navy League is hosting an overnight weekend program to introduce youth to its programs.

The event is Friday to Sunday (Aug. 23-25) and includes games, movies and introducing participants to musical instruments. Attendees will also learn naval terminology, enhance their team building skills, learn knot work and how to set-up a sail boat.

The cost for the three-day program is $55. Participants can also choose to continue on in the program for the September event, and if so, won’t be charged a fee for the second program.
