Employment program ends 10-year run

The end of the month will mark the end of an era for Experience Works, the long-running program aimed at helping mature job-seekers explore the local labour market and employment options in Nanaimo.

Delivered by ETHOS Career Management Group for more than a decade, Experience Works has provided service and support to thousands of clients, and established meaningful connections with hundreds of employers and service providers over the years.

The program is ending March 31 due to provincial funding cuts.

“Mature workers face employment change for many reasons, and often the job search experience is new to them,” said Theresa Mayoh, president, ETHOS Career Management Group and Director of Older Worker Programming. “We are proud of our role in assisting this seasoned and skilled group gain confidence, overcome feelings of frustration, and recognize the value of their contributions to the work force.”

ETHOS welcomes former clients and business partners to join an open house March 14 from noon to 3 p.m. at 306-155 Skinner St.
