Racers are already registering for the annual Save-On-Foods Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival, which happens July 8-10 at Maffeo Sutton Park.
The early registration deadline is April 15.
“We opened registration last December, allowing teams extra time to schedule their attendance,” said Heiko Behn, chair of the Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival Society.
Early registration allows teams to save money, which they can then put toward hotel rooms and travel costs.
