The Abreast of Life dragonboat team is taking the fight against breast cancer from the water to the golf course.
The sport has been proven effective for the mental and physical recovery of cancer survivors.
As part of its support efforts, the team has organized a golf tournament for Sept. 8 at Arrowsmith Golf and Country Club in Qualicum Beach.
A green fee of $99 gets participants a catered brunch before tee off, 18 holes of golf, an afternoon snack and dinner following the round.
Registration and brunch takes place from 10 a.m. to noon and golf commences at 1 p.m. witha shotgun format
The day includes a silent auction, raffle prizes, entertainment, and more. Part of the proceeds go to the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
