RBC Foundation donates $15

Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island recently accepted a $15,000 donation from the RBC Foundation toward its 2014 building project, a duplex in south Nanaimo.

This will be the 15th and 16th homes Habitat built on the mid-Island, with the groundbreaking tentatively scheduled for late summer 2014. This donation is the second from the RBC Foundation in 12 months, a $20,000 donation in April 2013 went toward the recently completely duplex at 553/555 Prideaux St.

“RBC has continued to be a huge supporter of Habitat and we are extremely grateful,” said Teresa Ludvigson, executive director. “From branch employees helping out with build days and a landscaping blitz for our home on Hecate Street to their generous financial support, it is because of groups like RBC in our community that we are able to help hard working local families make positive changes for themselves through home ownership.”

Habitat for Humanity is a standalone charity that benefits from the knowledge and expertise of 67 other Habitat affiliates in cities across the country under the umbrella of Habitat for Humanity Canada and Habitat for Humanity International.
