Document shredding benefits Nanaimo Crime Stoppers

NANAIMO – Event also helps raise awareness of identity theft.

A fundraiser for Nanaimo Crime Stoppers helps get rid of confidential documents securely.

Save-On-Foods Woodgrove, Best Shredding, Nanaimo RCMP and Crime Stoppers have teamed up again to offer confidential shredding of documents on Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Over the years, this event has raised thousands of dollars in support of the local Crime Stoppers program and has raised awareness to the risk of identity theft. This year, Crime Stoppers will be donating half of all proceeds toward the Nanaimo RCMP Victim Services program.

As in years past, there will be a barbecue with hotdogs, hamburgers and sodas provided by Save-On-Foods. The shredding is done on site. A minimum donation of $10 is asked for each bag or box containing materials for shredding.
