Make sure your documents are in order for the upcoming Central Vancouver Island Crime Stoppers shredding event.

Central Vancouver Island Crime Stoppers, formerly Nanaimo and District Crime Stoppers, will host their annual document shredding fundraiser event Saturday, Sept. 23, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., in front of Save-On-Foods at Woodgrove Centre.

For a suggested donation of $20 a box, Best Shredding, with their specially designed five-ton truck, will expediently shred documents.

“As a strong community partner, Crime Stoppers is doing their part to help combat identity theft by hosting this event,” said reserve Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesperson and Crime Stoppers coordinator.

Proceeds from the event will go to the United Way B.C. The event will happen rain or shine.
