Former classmates in Nanaimo high schools celebrated a 50th reunion last month at Bowen Park.
A display of classic cars greeted visitors, who received 1963 yearbook photos of themselves, along with an original invitation to prom.
In the auditorium decorated green and white – the school colours – there was an In Memoriam board with pictures of classmates no longer living. A moment of silence remembered them.
The former classmates came from all over the world, including Italy, England, Hawaii, Colorado, California, Ontario, Alberta, and all areas of B.C.
Proceeds from a 50/50 draw were split between Morden Mine and B.C. Children’s Hospital.
