Classic cars cruise A&Ws to rev up MS fundraiser

Nanaimo’s A&W restaurants are revving up their engines for a summer of classic cars and motorcycles.

Nanaimo’s A&W restaurants are revving up their engines for a summer of classic cars and motorcycles.

The Cruisin’ the Dub kick off takes place Wednesday (May 23) in support of the MS Society, Central Island Chapter.

“Cruisin the Dub nights go back to the drive-in days,” said Kamal Saab, operations manager for the four Nanaimo A&W locations. “All summer longer dozens of classic car owners cruise to A&W restaurants to enjoy a burger, classic 1950s music and show off their cars.”

The summer of Dub nights culminate with the annual Cruisin’ for a Cause Aug. 23. On that day, A&W restaurants in Nanaimo and across the country will donate $1 from every Teen Burger sold to the MS Society in funding crucial multiple sclerosis research and the programs and services.

Last year A&W Canada raised more than $1 million for Canadians living with MS. A&W Nanaimo helped raise more than $6,000. This year’s goal is $10,000.
