With Family Day Monday (Feb. 9), the City of Nanaimo has a number of activities for families during the long weekend.
The third annual Family Play Day will take place at Oliver Woods Community Centre on Sunday (Feb. 8) from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Participants can build forts and take part in gym games and puppet making.
Tickets are $12 per family of five and $3 each and can be purchased at Beban Park, Bowen Park and Oliver Woods. Children two years and younger get in for free.
Nanaimo's ice and aquatic centres will be hosting events on Monday, with the Everyone Welcome Skates and Stick 'N Pucks at the rink, and the Everyone Welcome Swim at the swimming pool.
