Breastfeeding challenge is on

At first glance, breastfeeding and libraries have little in common.

At first glance, breastfeeding and libraries have little in common.

However, they both nourish a child’s mind and are important factors in development.

In partnership with the Vancouver Island Regional Library, the Vancouver Island Health Authority invites moms, dads, babies and caregivers to learn more about the connection at this year’s 10th annual Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge.

The challenge is an international event to set a record for the most babies breastfeeding at one time.

The Nanaimo challenge takes place Saturday (Oct. 1) from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Harbourfront Library, 90 Commercial St.

To register, please call the Public Health Unit at 250-755-6200 or the library at 250-753-1154.
