John Barsby Bulldogs players will be doing their part for their football team, one shovelful of manure at a time.

The high school’s football program is holding its annual garden manure sale this week, March 7-11, in the student parking lot off Bruce Avenue.

Top-quality aged cow manure is being delivered this week and players will shovel it into approximately 18-kilogram (40-pound) bags, which can be picked up on site at a cost of $5 per bag.

The manure sale is an important annual fundraiser for the football program, with all proceeds going toward uniforms and protective equipment.

The sale will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-5 p.m., Friday from 2:30-5 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. or while supplies last.
