Nanaimo Wine Festival 2016 takes place at Beban Park Friday (Oct. 28).

There’s still time to pick up your ticket for the wine lovers’ event of the year.

The 24th Nanaimo Wine Festival is coming to Beban Park social centre Oct. 28 from 7-10 p.m.

The Wine Festival is a place to increase your knowledge of wine, try the new vintages, talk to the wine makers and agents, discover a wine or two you love in your price budget and have a great evening out.

Each $48 ticket is all inclusive and will allow you to taste more than 200 different wines from around the world and benefit a good cause at the same time.

The charity for this year is the Nanaimo Fire Fighters Association Fire Safety House, an educational tool and program for teaching fire safety in the home to children that has been running since September 1985.

The evening features a beautiful keepsake wine glass, a book listing the wines being poured and room to write notes, finger food and music by award winning guitarist Eric Harper. Enjoy cheeses from Paradise Island Cheese, the official cheese supplier of the festival, grapes from Pacific Produce, a variety of breads from Save-On-Foods, and tasty surprises from White Spot.

At the festival, enter to win the door prize, 160,000 More Rewards points from Save-On-Foods Parksville and Nanaimo.

Tickets for the 24th Nanaimo Wine Festival are still available at the following locations in Nanaimo: Quarterway Liquor Store, The Landing Liquor Store, The Well Liquor Store, Greenrock Liquor Store, Northgate Licensed Liquor Store and University Village Liquor Store.

Please plan for a designated driver or pick up a free $2.50 voucher at the festival for a safe ride home with AC Taxi.
