Amateur radio course certifies new operators

The Nanaimo Amateur Radio Association is hosting a certificate-course in ham radio operations Oct. 28-30.

The course is open to anyone 14 years of age or older.

The Industry Canada written examination consists of 100 multiple choice questions. Successful candidates who achieve 70 per cent or more qualify for a licence to operate on the air and for their amateur radio call sign.

Registration closes Oct. 15. Cost for the course is $50.
