100 women show they care

The inaugural meeting of 100 Women Who Care Mid Island will be held at Ladysmith’s Eagles Hall on June 8.

A new charitable group will help multiply fundraising efforts.

The inaugural meeting of 100 Women Who Care Mid Island will be held at Ladysmith’s Eagles Hall on June 8.

The group hopes to attract 100 women from Duncan to Nanaimo to commit to donating $100 to charity four times per year. The idea is that each of the 100 women pitch their charity of choice, and a vote is held, with the winning charity then receiving $10,000.

The group is asking for a one-year commitment from members.

The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. June 8 at Eagles Hall, with doors at 7 p.m. and bar service available. Only members of 100 Women Who Care Mid Island may attend.
