Vancouver Island building award finalists announced

NANAIMO – Canadian Home Builders Association announces finalists for building awards.

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Vancouver Island announced the finalists for the 2017 Vancouver Island Building Excellence Awards, which showcases the best in residential construction, design and renovation on Vancouver Island.

Entries were received from companies across the Island. A panel of industry professionals from outside the Island judged the entries. Scores were tabulated by an accountant from MNP.

Winners will be celebrated at a gala April 1 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre.

The 2017 VIBE Awards Finalists are:

Best Single Family Home under 3,000 sq.ft: Hanna Construction, Parksville, for 630 Elk Trail; Creative Concepts Construction Inc, Nanaimo, for Little Sur; Creative Concepts Construction Inc, Nanaimo, for Concrete Comfort.

Best Single Family Home between 3,000 – 4500 sq.ft.: Alair Homes, Nanaimo, for Oak Crest with project Partners Mazzei Electric, Illuminations Lighting, Mayco Mix and Federated Insurance; Falcon Heights Contracting, Victoria, for Confluence; TS Williams Construction, Nanoose Bay, for The Element with project partner KB Design; Pheasant Hill Homes Ltd., Nanaimo, for Gulf Island Sanctuary and project partner BC Passive House.

Best Single Family Home over 4500 sq.ft.: TS Williams Construction, Nanoose Bay, for Atrium Beach House and project partner KB Design; Horizon Pacific Contracting, Victoria, for West Coast Modern and project partners MJM Architects and D’Introno Interior; Satgur Developments, Nanaimo, for The Perch with project partner Tony Harris Developments Inc.

Best Townhouse Development: Aryze Developments, Victoria, for Frank.

Best Residential Renovation under $100,000: J.Zsiros Contracting, Courtenay, for Knight Residence.

Best Residential Renovation between $100,000 – $200,000: MAC Renovations, Victoria, for Mid-Century Masterpiece; Alair Homes, Nanaimo for Remora with project partners Mazzei Electric, Illuminations Lighting, Slegg Lumber, City Tile; The Interior Design Group, Nanaimo, for Simplicity with project partner City Construction; Nu-View Homes, Sidney, for 10 Mile Point.
