Nanaimo leaders discuss family business

NANAIMO - Successful family-owned businesses share their unique experiences.

A panel of successful family owned and operated businesses will share some of their unique experiences at the Thursday (Feb. 16) Family Business Stories event.

The panelists are Ann Marie Clark, leader and dealer principal of Steve Marshall Ford, Donna Hais, Partner in RW (Bob) Wall Contracting,Andy Spurling, president of Proline Management, and Dan Dagg, president of Hot House Marketing.

The panelists will share stories about their journeys in a family business and topics will include how they started, how family relationshipswere affected, what they appreciate most about being in a family business, successes and challenges, tips for working within a family business, and what others can learn from their experiences. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Jenn Bogwald, a partner and business advisor with MNP LLP is the facilitator, and Mark MacDonald, publisher of Business Examiner Vancouver Island, is the master of ceremonies.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m., costs $45 and includes a buffet dinner at Nanaimo Golf Club at 2800 Highland Boulevard.
