460 merger has Impact

NANAIMO – Impact Visual Communications and 460 Group combine talents for in-house graphic design service.

Mike Thompson, owner of Impact Visual Communications, has merged his company's talent and services with 460 Communications.

460 Communications announced the merger in December and said in a press release the addition of in-house graphic design, web design and photography positioned the 460 Group division as an "end-to-end communications and marketing firm."

"We're offering and bringing to the table more, better and different kinds of services, rather than just straight graphic design with a bit of marketing," Thompson said. "We're going to be heavily involved with social media marketing among many other kinds of marketing."

Thompson said the move is also presents a succession plan should he decide to retire in five to 10 years.

Impact Visual Communications, which has operated in Nanaimo since 1993, will continue operations under the name 460 Communications.

"For us it was a really good marriage of companies," said Erin MacDonald, 460 Communications director of communications and strategy. "We both bring different skill sets and I think the blend of the two allows both of us to service our clients better."
