Nanaimo athletes were frontrunners at this past weekend’s track meet.
The Nanaimo Track and Field Club hosted the Elwood Wylie Memorial Track and Field Meet on Saturday and Sunday at Rotary Bowl stadium.
Tyler Heisterman, Nanaimo track club coach, said with high school provincials this week (June 1-3), some of the older athletes didn’t compete this past weekend or chose events strategically. Nanaimo was well-represented at the Elwood Wylie meet, he said, by the younger divisions, and many youths had top finishes.
