The senior A Nanaimo Timbermen did as much as they were able do last week, but it wasn’t enough.

Nanaimo won both its games in Western Lacrosse Association play, but still got eliminated from post-season contention due to other results on the out-of-town scoreboard.

The T-men defeated the Langley Thunder 14-12 in overtime on Wednesday on the road, then edged the Coquitlam Adanacs 15-14 on Saturday, also on the mainland.

In the OT win, Colton Clark and Ryan Lee each had three goals and four assists, Jake Cullen had two goals and three helpers and Chase Fraser scored a hat trick. Brody Eastwood, Conrad Chapman and Jerrett Smith were other scorers and Mike DeGirolamo made 48 saves for the win.

On Saturday, Lee had two goals and six assists, Clark had two goals and five helpers, Cullen and Eastwood scored hat tricks and Fraser, Jon Phillips, Adam Jay and Kyle Dexter also tallied. Pete Dubenski made 41 saves for the ‘W.’

GAME ON … Nanaimo ends the season with two home games, facing the Burnaby Lakers on Saturday (July 29) at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena and the Adanacs on Sunday at 6 p.m. at Frank Crane.
