Shima Karate’s open house ended up being a full house.
The Nanaimo martial arts school held an open house Saturday to celebrate the recent opening of its new dojo on Barons Road. More athletes and their families were in attendance than would have fit in Shima’s former facility.
The club held demonstrations throughout the day, including some board breaking, and some of the brown- and black-belt students learned new forms.
